Coffee Flan

8 pcs Egg yolks
1 can Alaska Classic Sweetened Condensed Filled Milk 377g (290ml) Buy now
1 tsp Instant coffee powder
1 can Alaska Classic Evaporated Filled Milk 360mL Buy now

Caramel

1 cup White sugar
1/2 cup Water

Procedure

in a mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and alaska classic sweetened condensed filled milk. in a separate container, heat alaska classic evaporated filled milk under low heat for 2 minutes. dissolve instant coffee powder in the warm milk. allow to cool then whisk in together with the egg-condensed milk mixture. set aside.
in a sauce pan, combine white sugar and water. mix well untill all granules are dissolved. turn on the heat and sugar water to boil until liquid turns to an amber shade. once a caramel color is achieved. turn off the heat and transfer to llaneras. once the caramel has cooled and hardened, pour in through a sieve the flan mixture from earlier and cover the llanera with foil.
using a steamer, cook the leche flan under low heat for 20 minutes or until the flan has firmed up. once cooked, refrigerate until ready to serve. score a knife on the sides before transferring the flan to a plate. best enjoyed chilled.
